Who I am, what I do, and how I can help you

My name is Ian, and I'm an Argentinian freelancer who is working his dream job as a video game translator.

​

I started my journey in this industry in late 2019, at 22 years old. In only a couple of years of experience and with many projects under my belt, I have already dealt with the most common questions and issues that arise in the localization process. And my clients have been really happy with my answers and solutions.

​

All the projects I took part in have taught me something unique about the way games are made; and why we love to make and play games. I have learned that the best thing one can do for their clients is to simplify things; a professional localizer should not be a slow gear in the already-complex machinery that is game development. I have also learned that a game created by a passionate team of developers deserves a passionate translator to match.

​

Avoid the hassle, the astronomical fees, and the detached service of a localization agency. Avoid the mess that usually results from a community of fans tinkering with your game's text, tone, and aesthetic (save yourself the Hades headache).

Localization

what is localization?

This is the main service I offer.

Localization involves not only translating all text in a video game, but also understanding and transposing the original's tone, theme, and style. Only a professional localizer can adapt the game to a new audience.

When hiring this service, I can localize all in-game strings, dialogues, and UI, as well as store page descriptions, promotional social media posts, devlogs, and pretty much any text regarding your game or its launch!

My experience in this field has been quite varied... This (on the right) is a bloody note written by a clergyman after a slow descent into madness (Stoneshard). I also localized the funny and creative dialogues and tool names present in Draw a Stickman, which had to be equally funny and witty due to it being a children's game! In Ministry of Broadcast, I had the great pleasure of re-building the oppressive atmosphere of the competition through context dialogues, all while under the watchful eye of the Regime...

Testing a build of the game to detect, report, and solve any linguistic bugs. Comprehensive testing yields the best results.
